This year has been painted with a lot of resigns from the crypto space.
Some resignations were because of the harsh crypto market while few are for advancement purposes.
Gavin Wood – creator of Polkadot and co-founder of Ethereum – has resigned as CEO of the network’s major infrastructure provider, Parity Technologies.
However, he is still closely involved with the company as he will remain Parity’s majority shareholder, and will transition into a new role as its “Chief Architect.”
“The role of CEO has never been one which I have coveted,” said Wood in a statement about the transition on Friday. ”I can act at being a CEO well enough for a short while, but it’s not where I’m going to find eternal happiness.”
According to him, his resignation will make him some time to focus on coding new blockchain and web 3 technologies, including “chain-integrated social primitives.”
Wood also said he will be pointing his focus towards Polkadot and Web 3 adoption to the general population.
Sequel to his resignation, Björn Wagner, one of Parity’s Co-founders, takes the sit as the new CEO.
Wood’s crypto history is a unique one, being one of the early participants in the crypto ecosystem by contributing to Ethereum’s development just one month after Vitalik Buterin issued its initial whitepaper.
