Former BlackRock Executive Becomes Blockchain Australia’s New CEO:
Blockchain Australia, a body representing Aussie businesses and individuals participating in the crypto industry, has announced Laura Mercurio as its next Chief Executive Officer.
The new CEO is greatly rooted in the Financial field with multi-experiences from BlackRock, Deutsche Bank, and Citigroup.
Recently, a lot of individuals who were part of monetary institutions and even government offices moved to the digital asset space.
For example, Brian Brooks, who previously served as US Comptroller of Currency in the US – during Donald Trump’s administration- is currently the CEO of crypto infrastructure provider- Bitfury.
Moving back to a recent announcement, Blockchain Australia revealed that Laura Mercurio will dive into her new role from Monday (September 12).
The organisation believes her capability in engaging with watchdogs and the local government, since the country’s officials are close to applying for a regulatory framework to the digital asset sector.
Mercurio, when Speaking on her new career chapter, said:

Adam Poulton – Chairman of the Board – in his speech opined that Mercurio “brings a unique passion, energy, and enthusiasm” and will be a great match for the organisation.
